FILM LOG LINE

Main character: (Jerome) boy who falls in love with damsel in distress.
Second character: (jade) damsel in distress.
Third character: (Tyrone) jade’s ex-boyfriend.

Film idea

My film will be about a young black teenage boy who falls in love with what he thinks is a beautiful trustworthy girl. But halfway through the film he will discover that she is a damsel in distress as her ex-boyfriend is dominant over her.  This causes rivalry between the two males involving estate gangs & knife crime. The characters will be portrayed as young reckless anti-social people who commit a lot of crime such as theft and serious violence and also engage in recreational drug taking behaviour. In the end this will all result in death over one of the main characters.

Log line
A 21st century film on knife crime on the streets of London where a young black teenage boy falls in love with what he thinks is a beautiful trustworthy girl but is later stunned when he finds out she is a damsel in distress as her ex-boyfriend Tyrone has dominance over her. This causes rivalry between the two reckless anti-social males and their gangs resulting in death in one of the main characters.


This teen drama will be about a day in the life of a group of troubled 16 year olds growing up in west London. The characters will be portrayed as young reckless anti-social people who commit a lot of crimes such as theft and serious violence. They also engage in recreational drug taking behaviour. This film also relates to Bullet Boy, Adulthood, Kidult hood, anuva hood, shank etc. As they all result in crime, serious violence and death.

         The genre of this film is Horror,thriller. In the poster the central image is a young male.He is the central image because he is the centre of the magazine,everything else in the poster is not in focus.The film was released in March 29,2011. The poster's use of colours give off that it would be a horror film as they are very dull. The colour scheme is red,white and dull colours like brown et c. These colours contrast indicating it is a scary film. The tagline is 'its not the house that's haunted'. Which creates tension and makes the viewers eager to see it as not too much information was given off. Also it could indicate that it has something to do with the 'possessed' looked child that is in the central image. Lastly the use of red colours indicates danger.

The film in the link above is a romantic fantasy adventure. you can tell this because of the fast upbeat piano music at adventurous scenes such as  fight scenes etc. it has alot of romantic intimate moments and inbetween those it has adventurous moments.

The target audience would be 60%-male 40%-female . Mostly male as there is a big number of male actors in ratio to females.

Analysis of ad using 4 media concepts

LANGUAGE: The language in this advert is intended to persuade the market to buy this game. The phrase 'episodes from liberty city' refers to the older games to show it is a big game that has been running for possibly years.

INSTITUTION : The institution of this game  is rock star north. Rock star north aims to sell this game before its release date so that sales are guaranteed.

TARGET AUDIENCE: This game is aimed at teenagers and young adults who enjoy playing violent games. I know this because the poster for this game has pictures of a gunman which represents that there will be shooting and possible gangs.

REPRESENTATION: In the printed ad above an animated male character is presented as a troublesome person who commits alot of crimes as he is placed on a motor cycle which looks like it i driving very fast away from someone. In the other shots on the printed ad above you can see a female animated character with a bottle of alcohol beverage in her hand and a bit of cleavage showing. This shows that the game is for males and females over the age of 18 as it gives off a bit of a sex appeal. I think the way how the female has been presented is a bit stereotypical as not all females are like this , i think it could give off the wrong image for females leaving young males with the wrong idea.

HIGH ANGLE SHOT
The picture above is a high angle shot.A high angle shot is when you take a picture of someone or something from above, the gives  off an effect where it makes the person look vulnerable or weak.


Medium close up
In a close up shot you can only see above the chest which means the person's head and sholders. In this shot you can see the victim being punched and it is a medium close up so you could see the victim's face in extra detail and the person's fist.

High angle.

This is a high angle shot , a high angle shot makes the subject look small and weak. In this shot the subject is squashed in a corner and is being kicked taking a high angle shot of the scenario makes the subject look even more weak and vulnerable.



Low angle
This angle makes the subject/subjects look powerful. This helps the shot as the subjects in the scenario were acting as bullies.
Extreme close up

The picture above is an extreme close-up. Extreme detail emphasizes whatever is in shot. It is used rarely by directors to make sure it has a strong effecct. 
Over the shoulder shot
Looking from behind subject. It is used for conversations between people or to show a characters point of view. In the shot you could see that the main character is being verbally abused by the people whos backs are faced towards the camera as he looks upset and weak.


medium shot 

A medium shot is where the subjects waist to head is only visible. The actor and setting are roughly equal in frame. It is often used with two actors in shot.

wide shot/ establishing shot 

A wide shot/establishing shot is used to introduce the location, set the scene or show huge action set pieces

The Sims 3 is a 2009 life simulation computer game developed by The Sims Studio and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the best-selling computer game, The Sims 2. It was first released on June 2, 2009 for OS X and Windows.The Sims 3 was released to game consoles and smartphones on October 26, 2010, for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Android, iOS and Nintendo DS. It has also been released for mobile phone platforms, and a simpler version for mobiles with Java.The Sims 3 was an instant success, selling 1.4 million copies in its first week.Critics issued mostly positive reviews. The game has sold over ten million copies worldwide since its 2009 release, making it one of the best-selling computer games of all time.

A version of The Sims 3 was released on iOSAndroidBadaBlackBerry OS and Windows Phone on June 2, 2009. The iPhone game works similar to that of the PC version. In Create-a-Sim, instead of Lifetime Wishes, there are personas. Personas decide which lifetime wishes your sim will have, as a persona is the largest factor in a sim's personality. Sims start out with a small house. The house can be expanded every five sim days if the player can afford it.

The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims' activities and relationships in a manner similar to real life. The game includes an optional feature called "Story Progression," which allows all Sims in the neighborhood to autonomously continue as if the player were controlling them, such as get married, get jobs and promotions, have children, move into their dream house or move out of the neighbourhood while the player isn't playing. Sims live for a set duration of time (adjustable by the player) and advance through several stages (baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult, and elder). Sims can die of old age or they can die prematurely from causes such as fire, starvation, drowning, electrocution,









I think the target audience is for male and females aged 16-30. In my opinion I think middle aged housewives or middle aged single people play this game the most whereas teenagers play on the weekend. I think women play more than men. women 60% and men 40%

Overall I think the sims 3 is a successful game made as it sold over 10 million copies and is one of the best-selling games of all time. There will also be a sequel to this : The sims 4 .

HSBC AD (PHOTOSHOP)

In the image above it used photoshop to make a HSBC advertisement. In this advert I used 3 of the same images and added 3 different words to them. This shows that something can look the same but in others eyes  it has a different meaning. As you can see above their are 3 diffrent views. Some see high heels as a source of people , some see it as pleasure and others see it as something used/worn because of insecurity.


Again in the picture above I did the same but this time I used 3 different pictures which showed the same meaning but somehow in a slightly different way. In the first image there is a man running very fast , this shows 'POWER' because the amount of effort and speed he is putting into it. In the second image is a picture of a plug going into a socket this explores 'POWER' because it is an electrical appliances which helps to power something up. Lastly i have a picture of Barrack Obama which shows power as he is an American president who has power over the United States of America and persuaded people to vote for him.

the hunger games campaign

‘LET THE GAMES BEGIN’
 For our campaign we had a various amount of catchy slogans and we found that this was the best. In today’s lesson we created a campaign for our new hunger games training game to be played on different consoles. The consoles we have chosen for this game to be played on are playstation3, Wii, Xbox move and later on a few more new ones. We have specifically chosen the Wii as a top console for it to be played on as we know the Wii was created for families which range from 8-35 who would play games together. We thought our game would be perfect for the Wii as it is an adventure game which involves concentration and team work also there will be online play where you can verse and team up with friends for more enjoyment.
For publicity we have invested in celebrity endorsement, tv ads,online advertisement such as ‘twitter tweets’ and facebook promotions ect..
The celebrity endorsement we have are some of the main characters of the movie as people will automatically notice them in adverts as they recognise them from the film.

why i chose media

I chose media because I was told by past media students that it is fun and interesting. When I checked out media I started to get interested and thought it would be fun. Also I did photography last year for my gcse choice so I thought that would get me a good grade boost in media because I have some knowledge and experience with the camera. In the course I think the thing I will struggle most with is Photoshop, although I used it a multiple of times in my photography lessons and exams I still don’t know how to use it properly.I think i will have some good ideas for magazine covers and film introductions.

This movie trailer is for people around the age group of 18-40. I think this because of the scary scenes so it should be over the age of 18 and i think it is more for younger people so i would say up to 40. The movie is a horror/drama type of film and i think it would be watched by both men and women, 50:50. Lastly i think that this film would be watched in the cinema by young people e.g teenagers between 18-20 , on a laptop by
young people under the age of 18 and by older people up to the age of 40 on a dvd.
