KATY PERRY - ROAR

This music video is called ‘ROAR’ by Katy Perry.  To begin with it is quite effective because of its narrative. In the beginning of the video everything seems to be going wrong, the plane that Katy had been travelling on had crashed; there-for she was trapped on a desert island with the pilot of the crashed plane.  Just seconds after that had happened the pilot had been attacked by a tiger and taken away leaving Katy by herself. Throughout the rest of the video she had to adapt to her environment where she learned that the rest of the animals were much like her; kind and friendly. The concept of the music video is also effective as well because of how creative and different it is. You wouldn't expect a young female to be trapped on an island with nothing but animals that become her friends. Our expectations of the scenario would be that she gets attacked or hurt by one of the animals whereas in this video she was pampered and well looked after ,as if she was one of them herself.  The use of visual effects was quite effective too as it was used very professional. In some music videos they have a small budget but would still like to add visual effects, this leaves the video looking unprofessional and rushed. Whereas in Katy Perry’s music video everything looks surreal creating an effect on the viewers because they then notice it is not realistic and actually a visual effect.

Taken is a 2008 English-language French action thriller film which stars Liam Neeson.

He plays a former (CIA) operative who sets about tracking down his daughter after she is kidnapped by human traffickers for sexual slavery while travelling in France.

Enigma codes pose questions to the audience which are then answered shortly after or later on in the film. For example, who is she? Where is she going? Why is she doing that? They're questions enabling the audience to get intrigued with the film and wanting to find out the answers to these questions, therefore watching more of it. Enigma codes entice the audience to watch the rest of the film as they're curious as to what will happen next; they also help to move on the narrative.

An example of an enigma code is when the main character (Liam Neeson’s) daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers. People may question

 Why she was targeted out of the thousands of girls in Paris?

Does her kidnapping link to her father?

Film idea

My film will be about a young black teenage boy who falls in love with what he thinks is a beautiful trustworthy girl. But halfway through the film he will discover that she is a damsel in distress as her ex-boyfriend is dominant over her.  This causes rivalry between the two males involving estate gangs & knife crime. The characters will be portrayed as young reckless anti-social people who commit a lot of crime such as theft and serious violence and also engage in recreational drug taking behaviour. In the end this will all result in death over one of the main characters.

Log line

A 21^st century film on knife crime on the streets of London where a young black teenage boy falls in love with what he thinks is a beautiful trustworthy girl but is later stunned when he finds out she is a damsel in distress as her ex-boyfriend Tyrone has dominance over her. This causes rivalry between the two reckless anti-social males and their gangs resulting in death in one of the main characters.

This teen drama will be about a day in the life of a group of troubled 16 year olds growing up in west London. The characters will be portrayed as young reckless anti-social people who commit a lot of crimes such as theft and serious violence. They also engage in recreational drug taking behaviour. This film also relates to Bullet Boy, Adulthood, Kidult hood, anuva hood, shank etc. As they all result in crime, serious violence and death.

INSIDIOUS

         The genre of this film is Horror,thriller. In the poster the central image is a young male.He is the central image because he is the centre of the magazine,everything else in the poster is not in focus.The film was released in March 29,2011. The poster's use of colours give off that it would be a horror film as they are very dull. The colour scheme is red,white and dull colours like brown et c. These colours contrast indicating it is a scary film. The tagline is 'its not the house that's haunted'. Which creates tension and makes the viewers eager to see it as not too much information was given off. Also it could indicate that it has something to do with the 'possessed' looked child that is in the central image. Lastly the use of red colours indicates danger.

The film in the link above is a romantic fantasy adventure. you can tell this because of the fast upbeat piano music at adventurous scenes such as  fight scenes etc. it has alot of romantic intimate moments and inbetween those it has adventurous moments.

this film is a crime,action,thriller, adventure. it is fast paced and has lots of violent scenes. This also involves a few romantic intimate moments but mostly action and crime. The target audience would be 60%-male 40%-female . Mostly male as there is a big number of male actors in ratio to females.
